Are fluorinated waxes still permitted?

They are permitted outside of FIS and IBU competitions under certain conditions, which the manufacturer must observe. They must comply with the relevant EU directives.

Can liquid waxes dry out?

It depends on the right bottle. It must be resistant to solvent permeation. In our storage tests, the waxes are still suitable for use even after 13 years!

How should I store my liquid waxes?

A cool, dark place is best. The bottle must be tightly closed and stored upright.

What do I need to bear in mind when using wax?

Work in a well-ventilated area, do not inhale fumes, and do not eat, drink, or smoke while waxing. We explain this in detail in our application instructions.

What are the advantages of waxing your skis yourself?

Not only is it more cost-effective, but it also gives you more options for adapting to temperatures and snow conditions. And most people enjoy waxing.

Is it possible to book a waxing seminar with ZIPPS?

Yes, but this must be discussed on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested, please give us a call.

Do you offer special prices for ski clubs?

Yes, under certain conditions. Orders must be placed through the club or, if preferred, through a sports store that the club works with.

Can I take liquid waxes on the plane?

Most liquid waxes are prohibited on planes for safety reasons. The IATA has stipulated that only products with a flash point above 60°C are allowed on board. Our ZR 21F60+ and ZR31F60+ are permitted in checked baggage. The drying time for these waxes is significantly longer!

How can I resharpen the ZIPPS scraper?

Run it a few times at a right angle over very fine sandpaper, e.g., 400 grit.

How do I clean my cork roller?

It is best to use fine sandpaper, e.g., 400 grit, for the cork roller.

What speed should I set on my cordless screwdriver if I want to clean, cork, brush, and polish mechanically?

- Speed for cork roller and felt roller: We recommend approx. 900 rpm for use on ski bases.

- Speed for rotary brushes: We recommend 1000 to 1200 rpm for use on ski bases (for other possible applications, the brushes are designed for up to 2000 rpm).
