Finishing sprays and powders
Athletes, for whom even fractions of a second can be crucial in competition, use either a finishing spray or a powder as the top layer in the construction of their waxes. These are fluorinated products manufactured in accordance with EU regulations. The powders and sprays are fully fluorinated, the powders are more concentrated than the sprays. Powders are more complicated to use, they need to be ironed. When ironing, please be sure to follow the temperature specifications and processing instructions on the packaging! When using them, you should wear a fine dust mask to protect yourself from the fluorine-containing vapours and dusts. And you should only work in well-ventilated rooms.
The sprays are sprayed evenly onto the last layer of wax. After drying, they are felted or brushed in. Wearing a fine dust mask is also recommended here.
These perfluoro products may not be used at FIS and IBU competitions, but they may be used at races outside the series of the named federations.
